“My grandmother passed away after along battle with Alzheimer’s. She always loved to knit and sew, and she often made clothing and costumes for her 14 grandchildren, often before they were even considered. I was never very interested in learning as a child, but I was fascinated by her creating all of these things from nothing. Anyways, since I just had a baby a few months ago, I didn’t feel comfortable in any of my current wardrobe that would be appropriate. Instead of going out and buying something to wear, I thought it would be appropriate to make something. I ended up buying a couple of simple patterns on easy and sewing two dresses to wear. I wanted to thank you for being such a great teacher so that I could have this experience. Not only did I make both dresses from patterns, but I modified the neckline on one and shortened the hem on both. I would not have had the confidence to do any of that without your basics class”
